Nashville native and Army veteran Tyler Ashley came to Los Angeles like so many other people do, searching for his big break in acting and music. Along the was called back to service and is currently an officer with the LAPD. However, Tyler hasn’t given up on his goals of being on stage and he’s working hard on the streets and in the studio to make his dreams a reality.
In this episode, Tyler talks about his journey towards law enforcement and how he uses creativity in his singing and during his patrol shifts. Creativity comes in many forms and the wide array of talents that we all have as cops is really impressive. However, as the job begins to wear us down, we often discard creative endeavors, often dismissing them as childish or unsuitable for our Alpha warrior identities. I know I did that for a long time. I’ve always struggled with sharing my creative side and being comfortable with acknowledging my own talents so it was great to chat with Tyler who truly embraces his gifts and uses them to connect with others.
